Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 October 2026
This policy is for people protected by US state laws on “consumer health data”, such as Washington’s My Health My Data Act and Nevada’s SB 370. It adds to our Privacy Policy, which applies to everyone. Nurture is run by NURTURE-CHAT LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17023823), 214 Hendon Way, London, England, NW4 3NE.
1. The health data we collect, and why
- Your baby’s records — feeds, sleep, nappies, growth measurements, medicines and doses given, allergies, appointments, notes, and the documents, photos and videos you add. To keep your baby’s day and history for you and your family.
- Your chats with the assistant, the text of voice notes (the recording itself isn’t kept), and the facts the assistant remembers. To answer you with your baby in mind.
- Anything about your own health you choose to tell us — for example, how you’re feeling after the birth. To support you.
- What the app works out from your records — the morning note, patterns, and suggestions such as “Why might she be crying?”. To show you your baby’s day in plain words.
- Safety signals — that a message suggested someone might need urgent help, and what kind of concern it was (never the words). To check our safety features work.
We use consumer health data only to provide Nurture to you and your family, to keep it safe and working, and to improve it. Never for advertising, and we never sell it.
2. Where it comes from
- From you — what you log, write, say or upload.
- From the family members you invite, who log your baby’s day with you.
- From the app itself, working it out from the records above.
3. Who it is shared with
The people you invite. Your partner or caregivers see and add to your baby’s records, because you ask us to share them. Your chats with the assistant are never shared with them.
Companies that run Nurture for us (“processors”), only to provide their service and under contract:
- Supabase — stores your records, photos, videos and documents.
- Vercel — runs our servers, which handle your records when you use the app.
- OpenAI — writes the assistant’s replies, the morning note and chat titles, turns voice notes into text, and checks community posts for harmful content. It doesn’t use them to train its models.
- Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) — delivers notifications to your phone, which can mention things like a medicine due or an entry a family member logged.
We have no affiliates we share it with, and we don’t share it with anyone else unless the law requires it. The full list of our providers, and what each one receives, is in the Privacy Policy (section 6). Ask us and we’ll tell you which of them have received your data, with their contact details.
4. Your consent
Before you can add any health information, we ask for your consent on a separate screen when you sign up (or once, the first time you open the app if your account is older). We keep a record of when you agreed and to which version. You can withdraw consent at any time — by switching off what the assistant can use in Settings, deleting the records, or deleting your account — and we stop the processing that relied on it.
5. Your rights
You have the right to:
- confirm whether we collect, share or sell your consumer health data, and see it — including a list of everyone we’ve shared it with and how to contact them;
- withdraw your consent to us collecting or sharing it;
- have it deleted. You can delete your account and everything in it yourself, straight away, in Settings — or see how to delete your account.
To make a request, email nurturechatteam@gmail.com from the address on your account. We’ll check it’s really you, and reply within 45 days (we may extend this once by another 45 days if we really need to, and we’ll tell you why). Requests are free, at least twice a year. When we delete your data, we also tell our processors to delete it; backups clear as they roll over (see the Privacy Policy, section 9).
6. If we say no — appeals
If we turn down your request, reply to our answer with the subject “Privacy appeal”. We’ll send you a written decision within 45 days, with our reasons. If we turn down your appeal, you can complain to the Washington State Attorney General (atg.wa.gov) or the Nevada Attorney General (ag.nv.gov).
