Terms of Service
Last updated: 14 October 2026
The short version
- Nurture is for parents and carers aged 18 or over.
- It helps you keep track of your baby and talk things through — but it isn’t a doctor, and it doesn’t replace one. In an emergency, call 999.
- Be kind in the community, and keep your account to yourself.
- Subscriptions are through Google Play or the App Store. They renew automatically until you cancel in the store you bought from.
- What you add stays yours. You can delete your account at any time.
- These terms don’t take away any of your rights under consumer law, in the UK or where you live.
1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and NURTURE-CHAT LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17023823), whose registered office is 214 Hendon Way, London, England, NW4 3NE (“Nurture”, “we”, “us”). They cover the Nurture app, the web app and our website. By creating an account or using Nurture you agree to them, so please read them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we look after your information.
2. Who can use Nurture
You must be 18 or over to create an account. Nurture is designed for parents, parents- to-be and the people who help care for a baby. You may only add information about a baby if you are their parent or carer, or have their parent’s permission.
3. What Nurture does
Nurture gives you:
- a place to log your baby’s day — feeds, sleep, nappies and notes;
- growth, milestones (with photos and videos), medicines, appointments and documents;
- an AI assistant you can talk to, which can use your baby’s recent records;
- family sharing, so a partner or caregiver can follow and log the day with you;
- a report you can create to take to a doctor’s appointment;
- reminders, home-screen widgets, and a library of guides;
- a community of other parents, with groups and private messages.
You’re talking to an AI. The assistant is artificial intelligence — not a person, and not a doctor, nurse, midwife or health visitor. Using it doesn’t create a patient–professional relationship. How it handles difficult moments is in our AI Safety & Crisis Protocol.
We’re always improving Nurture, so features may change over time (see section 12).
4. Nurture isn’t medical advice
We’re not doctors, and Nurture can’t examine your baby or diagnose anything.
The assistant, the guides, the reports and anything other parents share are general information and support — not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. The assistant uses AI, which can sometimes be wrong or miss something. Please use your own judgement, always follow the advice of your GP, health visitor, midwife, pharmacist or paediatrician, and give medicines as the label or your doctor says.
If something is worrying you but isn’t an emergency, it’s always fine to speak to your GP, health visitor or NHS 111. Your worry is reason enough.
In an emergency, call 999 (or your local emergency number) straight away — don’t wait for the app.
Nurture relies on what you log. If something isn’t logged, or is logged wrongly, the app and the assistant won’t know about it. Reminders are a helping hand, not a guarantee — a phone can be switched off, silenced or out of battery. The assistant can point you to help, but it isn’t a monitoring service: it can’t spot every emergency, and it never contacts anyone on your behalf.
5. Your account
- Give us accurate details, and keep your email address up to date.
- Keep your password (or Google or Apple account) safe, and don’t share your account. Family members should have their own accounts — invite them through the app instead.
- Tell us straight away at nurturechatteam@gmail.com if you think someone else has got into your account.
- If other people use your phone, consider the app lock and what your home-screen widgets show.
6. Sharing with your family
When you invite someone to your family, they can see and add to your baby’s records (caregivers don’t see documents or change your baby’s details), and everyone can see who logged what. Only invite people you trust with your baby’s information, and remove anyone who should no longer have access — you can do this at any time. The person who invites you decides who else is in the family; if you leave, what you logged stays with that baby’s records. Please don’t invite anyone to see a baby’s information without the agreement of the baby’s other parent or carer where that’s needed.
7. The community
Before you first post, we ask you to agree to four simple promises. They’re part of these terms:
- Be kind. Everyone here is doing their best on very little sleep. No judgement, no shaming.
- Share experience, not diagnoses. Say what worked for you. For anything medical, point people to a professional.
- Keep it private. No phone numbers, addresses or photos of other people’s children.
- Speak up. Report anything that isn’t right. There’s zero tolerance for abuse.
You also agree not to post or send anything that:
- is abusive, harassing, hateful, sexual, threatening or illegal;
- sexualises or endangers a child in any way;
- is spam, advertising or selling, unless we’ve agreed to it;
- pretends to be someone else, or to be a medical professional when you aren’t;
- shares someone else’s private information without their permission.
Posts and messages are checked automatically, and by our team when something is reported, and something clearly harmful may not be posted. You can block anyone, and report any post, reply or message in the app. We read every report, and we may remove content, or pause or close an account, if these terms are broken. We apply these rules fairly and proportionately, with respect for people’s freedom to share their experience.
If we remove your content or restrict your account, we’ll tell you and why, unless the law stops us. If you think we got it wrong, email us with the subject “Moderation appeal” and a person will look at it again. To report something you believe is illegal, use Report in the app or email us with where it is and why you think it’s illegal; we’ll confirm we’ve received it and tell you what we decide. Other parents’ posts are their own views, not ours — please take them as experience, not advice.
8. Using Nurture fairly
Please don’t:
- use Nurture for anything unlawful, or to harm anyone;
- try to get into other people’s accounts or data, or our systems;
- interfere with, overload or disrupt the service;
- copy, scrape or resell Nurture, or use bots to access it without our permission;
- try to make the assistant produce harmful content, or use it for anything other than looking after your family.
9. What you add is yours
Your records, photos, notes, chats and posts stay yours. You give us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store, copy, process and display them only as needed to run Nurture for you — for example, to sync them to your family, to send them to our providers to answer you (see the Privacy Policy), and to show your community posts to other members. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in backups that roll over in the ordinary way, and entries you logged in someone else’s family. Please only add content you have the right to share.
Nurture itself — the app, its design, text, guides and brand — belongs to us or our licensors. You may use it for your own personal, non-commercial use under these terms.
10. Subscriptions, trials and payments
- Through Google Play or the App Store. In the Android app, subscriptions are bought and billed through Google Play, under Google Play’s terms; in the iPhone app, through Apple’s App Store, under Apple’s terms. We never see your card details. The price, and how often you’ll be charged, are shown in the app and in the store before you buy, including any taxes.
- Free trial. Where offered, new subscribers get a 7-day free trial. Each store allows one free trial per Google or Apple account. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription starts and you’ll be charged at the end of it. We’ll email you a reminder before it ends.
- Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, at the price then current, until you cancel. We’ll email you a reminder before each yearly plan renews, and at least every six months on a monthly plan, with the date and how to cancel.
- Cancelling. Cancel any time in the store you bought from — Google Play (Play Store → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions) or the App Store (Settings → your name → Subscriptions). You keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Deleting the app, or your Nurture account, doesn’t cancel a store subscription on its own — please cancel it in the store too.
- Refunds. Refunds for store purchases are handled by Google or Apple, under their refund policies. This doesn’t affect your statutory rights — if something’s gone wrong, please also tell us and we’ll help.
- Price changes. If the price of your subscription changes, you’ll be told in advance (through the store), and you can cancel before the new price applies.
- The iPhone app. If you got Nurture from Apple’s App Store, Apple’s standard licence for apps also applies. These terms are between you and us, not Apple: Apple isn’t responsible for Nurture, its content or its support, and has no obligation to maintain it.
- Older web subscriptions were billed through Stripe and can be cancelled from the Subscription page on the web; deleting your account cancels them automatically.
Your 14-day right to cancel (UK and EU). If you live in the UK or the EU, you normally have 14 days after buying to change your mind. When you start a plan, you ask us to give you access straight away. If you cancel within those 14 days, the store you bought from will refund you, though it may keep an amount for the days you’ve already used. Contact us and we’ll help.
11. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings, or by following the steps on our delete-account page. Deletion is immediate and permanent — we can’t bring anything back afterwards.
We may pause or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if we have to by law, or to protect other people. Where it’s fair and safe to, we’ll tell you why and give you a chance to respond. If we close Nurture altogether, we’ll give you reasonable notice so you can save anything you need, and refund any paid time you haven’t used where the law requires.
12. Changes to Nurture and to these terms
We’ll keep improving Nurture, which means features may be added, changed or removed. We won’t make changes that take away a main feature you’ve paid for without telling you and letting you cancel. We work hard to keep Nurture running, but it may sometimes be unavailable — for example for maintenance, or because of a problem with one of our providers.
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you don’t agree, you can stop using Nurture and delete your account.
13. Our responsibility to you
We provide Nurture with reasonable care and skill, and as described in these terms. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can’t be limited or excluded under the law — including your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Within those limits:
- we’re not responsible for losses that weren’t foreseeable, or that happen because you didn’t follow these terms or the advice in section 4;
- we’re not responsible for decisions made using information in the app instead of advice from a medical professional, or for what other parents post;
- Nurture is for personal use, so we’re not responsible for any business losses;
- we’re not responsible for delays or failures caused by things outside our reasonable control.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you have a problem, please email us first — we’d much rather put it right. If we can’t, you can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts where you live.
If you live in the EU or elsewhere outside the UK, you also keep the protection of the consumer laws of the country where you live that can’t be changed by agreement, and you can bring a claim in your local courts. In the EU, that includes your legal guarantee that digital services match their description and work as they should, with the right to have them put right, a price reduction, or to end the contract.
If any part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce something straight away, we can still do so later.
